Ackeem Auguste earned his first call-up to a 15-member West Indies One-Day International squad for the forthcoming white-ball series in Bangladesh. The West Indies will play three ODIs in Dhaka this October (18th, 21st, 23rd), followed by a trio of T20 Internationals in Chattogram (27th, 29th, and 31st).

A former West Indies Under-19 captain, Auguste had a sub-par 2024 Super50 Cup while representing the West Indies Academy, tallying 98 runs from six innings with an average of 19.60. But when he represented St Lucia Kings in the 2025 Caribbean Premier League, the left-handed top-order batsman compiled 229 runs from 10 innings at 25.44. Then, during the recent 2-1 T20 series defeat against Nepal, Auguste made an unbeaten 41 in the 10-wicket win in the third match.

West Indies’ coach Daren Sammy, also the Kings’ tactician, said in a Cricket West Indies media release: “The selection of Ackeem reflects the pathway CWI is creating for our emerging players who have shown the qualities to perform at the international level. He is a player for the future, one who has progressed from Under-15s to the senior level, and another Academy graduate to feature in an international squad this year.”

In other news, experienced opener Evin Lewis will miss this trip due to a wrist injury sustained in the CPL, while fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, who withdrew from the tour of India due to a suspected back injury, will also be absent from the Bangladesh series.
