John Campbell hit his maiden Test century, and Shai Hope scored his first hundred since 2017, but India were too good on home soil as they completed a 2-0 series win over the West Indies.

Led by Shubman Gill, India cruised to an innings-and-140-run victory in the first Test at Ahmedabad. Then, for the first time since Roston Chase was appointed as captain in May, West Indies carried a Test match to a fifth day. Despite that silver lining, India prevailed by seven wickets in the second Test at Delhi.

Here are three key takeaways from the two-Test series:

In the second innings of the second Test, West Indies were made to follow on as they faced a deficit of 270. Campbell and Hope combined for a third-wicket partnership of 179, with Campbell notching his maiden Test century in the process (115 off 199 balls with 12 fours and three sixes). Shai Hope, meanwhile, reached 103 (214 deliveries, 12 fours and two sixes). That partnership proved crucial as the West Indies were able to ensure that India batted again.
