We are three months away from the start of the Women’s T20 World Cup, yet women’s cricket in the region continues to supply more questions than answers.

The recently concluded domestic T20 Blaze and Super50 competitions saw domestic women players play a total of nine games across two weeks. And that, as they say, was that.

I should also point out that the women’s international side hasn’t played a competitive game since their home series against South Africa in June 2025.

With only a few Caribbean Premier League games and an eight-week winter camp to plug the gap, it is no wonder the senior women’s team looked rusty and out of form against Sri Lanka in the recently completed white-ball series.
